About 25 minutes west of downtown St. Louis lies Chesterfield, MO, a vibrant city where history, tradition and progress come together.
Incorporated in 1988, Chesterfield now covers 32 square miles and grew from what were once six smaller communities.Chesterfield as a named community dates back to the early 1800s when Col. Just Post arrived in this area from Middlebury, Vermont.Post founded Chesterfield in 1817 from the communities of Bellefontaine, Lake, Gumbo, Monarch and Bonhomme.Each of these communities donated their own unique history, adding to the rich history that Chesterfield shares today.

Chesterfield offers a look into the past, with "Century Houses," and historic structures such as those featured in Faust Park Historic Village. The "Century Houses" are a collection of 20 houses over 100 years old. These homes were recognized as architectural treasures and their owners were presented with framed certificates at ceremonies held at Faust Park in 1997. Faust Park also features many structures from different periods. One of which is Governor Bates´ "Thornhill." "Thornhill" is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the oldest standing Governor´s residence in Missouri. Chesterfield is also home to three other structures featured on the National Register of Historic Place.

Beyond the historical attractions, Chesterfield boasts several dining options.
